About Us
Grounded Innovation is a Barcelona-based team working at the intersection of community building and collaborative spaces. We believe that strong communities don't happen by accident — they're designed, nurtured, and sustained by people who care about connection. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of that work.
About the Role
We're offering an internship for a Community Builder & Operations Intern based in Barcelona. This role is designed for students who can arrange academic credit through their university. It's a hands-on position with real responsibilities, and for the right person, there's a real possibility of joining the team after the internship period.
If you're studying something related to marketing, communications, events, content, hospitality, business administration, or operations and want to apply those skills in a real community context, this is a good fit. You'll work closely with a small team, so your contributions will be visible and meaningful from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
- Community engagement: Connect with members, facilitate interactions, and help create a welcoming environment both online and in person in Barcelona.
- Event coordination: Help plan and run events, workshops, and initiatives that bring people together.
- Member support: Be a point of contact for members, answering questions, solving small problems, and making sure people feel looked after.
- Content & social media: Create content for social channels that reflects what the community is actually doing and why it matters.
- Growth support: Help identify and connect with potential partners, collaborators, and new members.
- Operations: Support the day-to-day running of community spaces and projects.
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a degree program (marketing, communications, events, hospitality, business administration, operations, or similar) and able to sign a university internship agreement for academic credit.
- Good communicator in writing and in person, across different types of people.
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple things at once.
- Genuinely interested in community, shared spaces, and how people connect.
- Comfortable with digital tools and social platforms.
- Some flexibility for occasional weekend availability.
Why Apply?
You'll get direct experience running real community initiatives, building relationships with interesting people, and learning how a community-led organization operates from the inside. We're invested in the people we bring on, and if things click, we'd love to explore what comes next together.
